Disclaimer: This guide outlines the traditional Vidhi. However, fierce (Ugra) Mahavidya sadhanas should not be undertaken lightly by beginners. For severe problems like court cases or extreme enmity, it is strongly advised to book an Anushthan performed by initiated Acharyas at the Nalkheda Siddha Peeth.
1. Prerequisites & Purity
Maa Baglamukhi demands strict physical and mental purity. Before starting the puja:
- Bathe and wear entirely yellow clothes. Do not wear stitched clothes if possible (a dhoti/sari is ideal).
- Choose an isolated, clean room. Face East for spiritual growth, or North for victory and wealth.
- Ensure complete celibacy (Brahmacharya) and a strict vegetarian, onion/garlic-free diet.

Procurement Note
Yellow items (Pitambara) are mandatory for Maa Baglamukhi. Yellow mustard seeds (Peeli Sarson), turmeric (Haldi), and yellow flowers should be abundant.
3. The Sankalp (Vow)
Without Sankalp, the energy of the puja dissipates. Take water, yellow rice, a yellow flower, and a coin in your right palm.
State your Name, Gotra (lineage), time, location, and the specific reason for the puja (e.g., "To paralyze the negative actions of [Enemy's Name] and achieve victory in [Case Name]"). Drop the water on the ground.
4. Nyasa (Purification of Body)
Nyasa involves touching various body parts with specific mantras to lock the divine energy inside you before chanting.
Common Nyasas include Kara Nyasa (purifying the hands) and Anga Nyasa (purifying the limbs and heart). This step is crucial for protection against the mantra's intense heat.
5. Dhyana (Meditation)
Close your eyes and visualize the Goddess exactly as described in the scriptures:
"Seated on a golden throne, bathed in a yellow glow. With her left hand, she pulls the tongue of the enemy, and with her right hand, she raises a golden club to strike them."
6. Panchopachara Puja
Offer five specific items to the Yantra or idol while chanting the basic mantra (Om Baglamukhyai Namah):
- Gandham: Yellow sandalwood paste
- Pushpam: Yellow flowers
- Dhupam: Incense stick
- Deepam: Mustard oil or ghee lamp
- Naivedyam: Yellow sweets (Bhog)
7. Mantra Japa
Using a Haldi mala, begin chanting the Beej Mantra or the 36-letter Brahmastra Mantra. The mala must be kept hidden inside a Gaumukhi (mala bag).
Maintain an unbroken rhythm. If you took a Sankalp for 11 malas, do not get up or speak until all 11 are completed.
8. Aarti & Ksamaprarthana
Conclude the puja by lighting camphor (Kapur) and singing the Baglamukhi Aarti.
Finally, recite the Ksamaprarthana (Forgiveness Prayer): "O Mother, I do not know the exact mantras, yantras, or procedures. Whatever I have done out of devotion, please accept it and forgive my mistakes."
