Why Mahashivratri is One of the Greatest Festivals of Lord Shiva

Mahashivratri, which translates to 'The Great Night of Shiva,' is an annual festival of immense spiritual and cosmic significance. Unlike other Hindu festivals that are celebrated during the day, Mahashivratri is observed throughout the darkest night of the Phalguna month. This specific lunar phase is when the planetary northern hemisphere is positioned in such a way that there is a natural upsurge of energy in the human system.
