The Importance of Purity

Maa Baglamukhi is a fierce (Ugra) deity. Worship at a Siddha Peeth is not casual. Strict adherence to physical purity and mental discipline is required to safely absorb the immense Stambhan energy radiating from the Swayambhu idol.

What to Do

•Bathe and wear clean, traditional clothing before entering the temple.
•Wear yellow clothing (Pitambara) if possible, as it is highly auspicious for Maa Baglamukhi.
•Maintain silence and focus on chanting the Beej Mantra internally.
•Purchase Prasad and Samagri from authorized stalls outside the temple.
•Respect the priests (Acharyas) and follow their instructions during the Aarti or Havan.

What NOT to Do

•Do not wear leather items (belts, wallets, jackets) inside the inner sanctum.
•Do not wear black or dark blue clothes, as these are forbidden in Baglamukhi worship.
•Do not wear shorts, skirts, or revealing modern clothing.
•Do not consume non-vegetarian food, alcohol, or tobacco on the day of your visit.
•Do not touch the central Swayambhu idol or the priests' ritual items.

The Dress Code (Pitambara)

The Goddess is known as Pitambara—she who is enveloped in yellow. Therefore, wearing yellow clothing is highly pleasing to her and attracts her grace instantly.

Men: Yellow dhoti-kurta is the absolute best. If unavailable, a yellow shirt or kurta with light-colored trousers is acceptable.
Women: Yellow sari or yellow salwar kameez with a dupatta covering the head.
Forbidden Colors: Do NOT wear black or dark blue. These colors absorb negative energy and conflict with the golden aura of the Goddess.
