Sacrifice, Kundalini Awakening, and Courage

8th Mahavidya Maa Baglamukhi (Pitambara)
Thursday (Guruvar), Tuesday or Ashtami
Rapid Spiritual Awakening, Victory over Enemies
The deeply esoteric Mahavidya who cut off her own head to feed her hungry attendants, symbolizing the ultimate sacrifice of the ego and the awakening of Kundalini.
While bathing in the Mandakini river, Maa Parvati's two attendants, Jaya and Vijaya, became extremely hungry. To satisfy their hunger, the Goddess severed her own head. Three jets of blood spurted from her neck—she fed the two attendants with two jets and drank the third herself. This terrifying act represents the universe sustaining itself through continuous sacrifice.
She holds her severed head in one hand and a scimitar in the other. She stands on a copulating couple (Kamadeva and Rati), symbolizing that she is beyond the forces of creation and sexual desire, absorbing life energy to channel it upward into spiritual liberation.
The profound blessings attained through the dedicated worship of Maa Chhinnamasta.
Immediate destruction of powerful enemies and massive obstacles.
Awakening of the Sushumna Nadi and rising of Kundalini energy.
Absolute fearlessness and eradication of the fear of death.
Cure for severe sexual disorders or uncontrollable lust.
Midnight
Chhinnamasta Jayanti (Vaisakha Shukla Chaturdashi).
Chhinnamasta worship is strictly Tantric and highly volatile. It requires absolute purity, a fearless mindset, and the guidance of a Guru. Worship involves deep meditation on the Ajna Chakra.

Kama and Rati represent sexual desire and the life-creation force. By standing on them, Chhinnamasta demonstrates absolute control over lust, transforming sexual energy into spiritual energy (Ojas).
